Join co-hosts Mark McNease and Rick Rose as we welcome Desrie Horan to this week’s podcast.

Desrie Horan currently lives in Shreveport, LA with her husband, two children, and three cats. Desrie was adopted when she was three years old and grew up in Chicago. She always had an interest and desire to help children that were less fortunate in this world. When she was seventeen she worked in Kiev, Ukraine in orphanages and with babies who had been abandoned.  When she was nineteen she worked in Kenya, Africa in a babies’ AIDS hospital. She relocated to Oklahoma where she met her husband and continued to have a desire to help children. In 2010 she became a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where she advocates in court for children who are in foster care due to abuse and neglect. She also works at the local CASA office as the case manager. It is her desire to tell others that they have the power to change someone's future no matter where they are in their own lives. Her hope is that people learn to accept everyone for who they are. Something she tries to teach her children every day.
