Ep106 - Approaching Chaos with Lucy Wyatt

After living and working in London, Lucy came to live in rural Suffolk in the UK with two daughters. The background to the book started when the youngest daughter went off to school and Lucy decided to go back to the ancient Greeks in order to research the origins of alternative medicine, in particular homeopathy, partly to see if history could shed any light on why we consider alternative medicine to be 'unscientific'.

The research grew from that into a much wider investigation of the beginnings of civilisation taking in the ancient Egyptians and beyond. It became clear that there was an untold story - different to the one we are taught in school - about how cities came about after the end of the Ice Age over 10,000 years ago; an interpretation which matters because we can still learn so much from it. Lucy now lives on an unspoilt eco-farm where she tries to put into practice some of what she has discovered.
