Autism. Whether the stigma is overt, or a well-intended misunderstanding, the inaccurate perspective the majority of the world has about autism is costing us. And with economics as they are, is a problem worth solving. The rampant misinterpretation of autism costs parents in treatments that don't work, and other desperate attempts to secure a future for their autistic child. It costs the rest of America, whether they know it or not, in tax dollars when our kids can't live independently because they aren't welcomed in the typical workplace. Companies pay in lost innovation by not embracing that which can jettison their profits, and retailers pay by not knowing how to make their establishments autism friendly, tapping into an enormous, loyal, paying customer base. We all pay, whether we know it or not. It's the elephant in the room, for those who have autism. ...And for autism moms, it's the elephant in the minivan. Join us as we explore the problems, and what we believe are some solutions.
