OK! Ken is a fascinating artist, with a rather unique twist to his story. While it’s not at all uncommon for famous artists to have had other jobs before breaking through the music scene, Ok! Ken hails from a rather unique background. 

Originally born Kenny Allen, the artist grew up in the South East Texas region, before relocating to North Dakota to pursue sports and academics. His academic journey later saw him emerge with a degree in healthcare, which ultimately led him to the enviable position of Healthcare Executive for a renowned hospital in the area, with a focus on elder care. 

Following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, OK! Ken was forced to turn to other ventures to occupy his time, and one of those ventures included music. The artist’s songs explore the tragedy that was (and is) the pandemic, and the many restrictions that we’ve been forced to endure. For OK! Ken, the pandemic also had an interesting side, in the sense that it opened his eyes to his musical potential, and got him exploring his new side of himself. 

Taking a page from the books of renowned artists such as Drake, Black Eyed Peas, and Migos, OK! Ken creates a music that would best be described as a gripping mix of various styles. As someone who greatly enjoys a lot of different music styles, OK! Ken has this wonderful ability to create music unlike any you’ve ever heard before, blending together styles, and beats, that make his own music come across as powerfully unique. 

You definitely get a feel of that on his brand new release, “You Know What I Want”, where you can definitely hear multiple influences, as well as the effect of growing up around the Dallas and Houston club scene. “You Know What I Want” is a cocky, charming musical release that explores life, mainly, and all its funny, interesting, and exciting little nooks.
