Peta-Gaye Nash was born in Kingston, Jamaica but has made Canada home for twenty years. I Too Hear the Drums was her first short story collection published in 2010. Her work has appeared in several anthologies and she has written six children’s books. Peta-Gaye won the 2015 Marty Award for Emerging Literary Arts, and back in 2013 she received an honourable mention for the same award. In 2004, she was awarded with the Seventh Annual Observer Literary Awards for Fiction in Kingston, Jamaica.

A graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts, and a Post Graduate Certificate from Humber College, Peta-Gaye currently teaches English as a Second Language in Mississauga, Ontario where she lives with her husband and four children.

Her own children influenced her to write children’s stories and her most recent book, Juliet Malevolent…An Evil Tale is about a topic close to her heart - being yourself even if you feel different from everyone else.
