Recovery from Addictions is NO ACCIDENT - it is a COMMITMENT to wanting more & a better life - & until we are SICK & TIRED ENOUGH OF BEING SICK & TIRED...we won't get the help we need. We have to hit OUR BOTTOM - whatever that is. It is different for everyone. You must find yours - & when you do - I PROMISE THAT IF YOU WORK A DILIGENT PROGRAM IN RECOVERY - YOU TOO WILL HAVE A MUCH BETTER / WONDERFUL LIFE.

As for tonights show - we learned a bit about TURRET's - a syndrom which affects individuals ability to hold back from saying compulsive - and sometimes violent words/phrases - just helplessly blurting them out - regardless of who is listening or who is offended. We immediately recognized that the individual with Turrets can be isolated by others who don't understand their affliction, causing additional pain and angst. And yes - while it is a sort of thinking problem - Neither myself or my compadres are qualified to address such matters.

We talk frankly about recovery from addictions such as Alcoholism & drug abuse, because that is what we did. "OUR BEST THINKING - GOT US DRINKING" a saying often credited to why we drank. We had such wild thoughts - that we self-medicated to try & control the craziness going on in our heads...It worked only for awhile & then it grew bigger than we ever could imagine!
