This week on #LFCRadio we are going to talk about Kids and Race.

We we’re inspired to do this show this week after watching a special program that the Anderson Cooper team did for CNN last weekend. It was called “Race Relations: Through The Eyes of a Child.”

There were children ranging in age from 6 to teens in high school. It showed the difference in how we perceive ourselves as blacks and whites. How black kids are thought to be mean or to be thieves, while white kids are generally thought to be empathetic and kind. It also showed how those thoughts are shaped at home, whether the parents want to own up to it or not. There were disheartening stereotypes coming from kids who were white and black. Elementary aged to the teenagers.
