Creativity and Spirit - Making Art as Expression of the Heart

The most honest I have ever seen someone be is when they are making art.  When I taught art in the public schools, I marveled at the pouring forth of my students when I asked them to create.  There was a purity & directness in their work that reminded me of the energy of Life that moves through us seeking expression.  

The older they got, the more their left brain became involved.  The more their left brain became involved, the more intellectual they became about what they created.  The honesty pouring forth from their heart became more contrived, controlled.  And the art process was diluted, the life strangled out of it.
