Leslie is responsible for ACCION’s program performance and oversees lending, portfolio quality and client service activities. She joined the ACCION team in 2005 and led marketing and public relations efforts, new staff recruitment, and training for the organization before working as a member of the lending and collection teams.
Leslie began her career as a print journalist. She worked for The Associated Press and The Albuquerque Tribune and was a contributor to Reuters, The Dallas Morning News and The New York Times. The Albuquerque native also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador, working on local community development efforts in Puerto El Triunfo, Usulutan.

Leslie has her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico's Anderson School of Management Executive MBA program and was a 2011 young alumni inductee into Anderson’s Hall of Fame. She received her Bachelor's at UNM, graduating summa cum laude with a dual major in journalism and political science.
