The Houston Rockets have won four in a row...two straight at home after going 4-and-1 on their recent road trip. The Rockets are quietly playing like one of the better teams in the NBA... even in the west. However, Houston is a footballt town and though the Texans have not met fans expectations thus far... football still rules. The Rockets boast improved bench play and James Harden is stepping up to be the leader he professed he'd be. It's still early but so far so good.

Speaking of the Texans... and yes.. we have to do a bit of that. The guys on Kirby have lost three in a row, are 6-6 and face the Colts in Indy this weekend. The teams are tied for first in the AFC-South with the Tennessee Titans. The Texans are undefeated in the division but two key defenders, Jadeveon Clowney and Jonathan Jospeh are day to day on the injury list. Needless to say, this is a huge game for both teams. Then again at this point in the season they all are.

On the college coaching front, the University of Houson has reportedly narrowed it's search for a new head football coach down to 4 or 5 candidates and could make their choice by the end of this week. I'll just leave that right there.

And the annual Athletes in Action Super Bow Breakfast is less than two months away.  James Brown, host of “The NFL Today” and Thursday Night Football will emcee the event. Super Bowl Champions Tony Dungy and Roger Staubach, will also attend the breakfast among other special guests like Bruce Matthews, Anthony Munoz, Derrick Brooks. Terry Bortz, special projects director of Athletes in Action joins us live to talk about the breakfast and the Bart Starr Award.

Sports hot topics and of you... and on this week's show. We'll see you online!
