Social Void might best be described as a ‘lyrical’ alternative rock band fronted by brothers Chip Cooley (vocals, guitar) and Brent Cooley (bass, keys). Their atmospheric debut album, Propeller, chronicles a deeply personal and prolonged time of isolation, in which Chip confronts his past, present, and future, and faces the consequences of disconnecting for too long.  Playing guitar from the age of four, and being raised by a vocal coach, he's been ingrained with music as a means of expressing feelings that escape mere words, and he layers his guitar as added textures and contrasting voices in each track. His brother, Brent, also singing and playing piano from an early age, has always had a natural ability to find harmony and expound upon these raw expressions. And with his inclination for maths and general knack for musical theory, he provides a technical balance and structure. Their songs are self-recorded, self-produced, and use every step of the process to serve the greater work. In former iterations of the band, they have become veterans of live performance in historic Charleston and have added Charles Holliday (drums), Elijah Kuzia (synth), and Quell Graham (guitar) for touring.Be sure to pick up a copy of their amazing album 'Propeller!'
