KDSL Blog Talk Radio will talk with people and organizations working locally, domestically, and globally on innovative work related to education. The next show will be on Tuesday 4 September 2012 from 12:00noon-12:15p.m. EST and will feature an interview with Dr. Scott Laidlaw of Imagine Education and the documentary The Biggest Story Problem – Why America's Students are Failing At Math. The Biggest Story Problem is an independent documentary film examining the sudden drop in math scores and competency seen as students in the U.S. transition from primary to secondary schools. Scott has gained 14 years of in-classroom teaching experience at the elementary, secondary and university levels, since earning his doctoral degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado. While teaching middle school, he developed seven story-based, in-classroom math games with historical fiction themes that became the focal point of his classroom curriculum. Scott strives to support educators and educational leadership in changing the underlying pedagogy of their student classrooms.
