For twenty five years Thomas M Sterner served as the sole concert piano technician for The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware, a nationally-known performance venue. During that time he met and performed work for many of the most prestigious musicians and conductors the world has to offer. His clients spanned all genres of the music industry, from pop to country to jazz and classical. He received accolades from many performers, some even stopping their show to publicly acknowledge his fine work.

At the same time , he also operated a highly successful piano remanufacturing facility where he painstakingly restored vintage grand pianos for the most discerning customers. The daily discipline required for his vocation, combined with his interest and study of both eastern thought and modern performance enhancement psychologies, were the forces that have inspired him to succeed in so many disciplines.

An accomplished musician/composer, a private pilot, avid golfer and student of archery to name a few, Mr. Sterner finds joy in the process of learning to overcome life’s struggles by understanding the source of inner strength, peace, and self discipline, and the value of staying in the present moment. Inspired by all that he has learned, Thomas M Sterner sold his highly successful service business in 2005, created Mountain Sage Publishing and wrote his top-selling book, “The Practicing Mind: Bringing Discipline and Focus Into Your Life ”.
