Afghanistan-From Gregory Daffin's Point of View

My interview with Gregory J. Daffin, author and former Field Engineer for Systems Products and Solutions, Inc., Huntsville, AL, was prompted by his brief, but poignant statement he made as at his buddy's pastor installation ceremony recently.

Greg's unique perspective of Afghanistan prompted me to ask him if he would sit down and share the Afghanistan war experience with me, from his P. O. V.

Greg was working for a minority, woman owned, small business (SPS) when he was assigned to go to Southwest Asia, on a mission to help defense and civilian agencies as well as commercial organizations overcome logistics and training challenges in the war zone.  

Being former military, Greg understood what was needed in Afghanistan and he delivered---from doing his job on base with the soldiers to interacting personally with the Afghani people in an effort to understand them.

Greg's years of experience in dangerous, military work caused him to look at soldiers like his sons and gave him empathy for their mothers at home.  He's written a book for single mothers raising sons, "A Guide For Mothers Who Have to Be Fathers," which he hopes will help everyone deal with this unfortunate, but universal dilemma.

Greg's work enabled him to see a different side of the war.  He speaks about it from the heart and eyes of a father. 

Greg Daffin will share his perspective of the war effort and his travels throughout Southwest Asia as he monitored activities that will not be reported on the news and we will never see.
