David Phillips, founder of Sustainable Engineering Design, discusses how civil engineering mixes with sustainable living. He shares his passion of "Visioneering" with teams to engineer the landscape of tomorrow.

David Phillips, P.E., team member of Sustainable Engineering & Design, LLC, oversees the design and construction aspects of all varieties of projects for the firm. As a native to Vero Beach, FL, David has worked in the Engineering field since 1990 in the Treasure Coast area.

David’s sought after design expertise has led him to participate in projects as far as Madrid, Spain and the Netherlands Antilles. Specializing in stormwater management and design, construction management, and project scheduling.

David’s Florida clients have included St. Lucie County, Indian River County, City of Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County School Board, St. John’s River Water Management District, FEMA Mapping and drainage retrofit projects for the City of Sebastian.

David graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He obtained his LEED Accredited Professional certification from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). He is also a Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) LEED for Homes Field Agent.
