Jon Marro of Blend Apparel

Jon Marro was born 6 weeks premature on April 9th 1978 in Rutland, Vermont. He grew up drawing and coloring and playing outdoors. The world to him has always been a curious and colorful bravado of wonder and imagination. High School was an awkward-emotional 4 year period of holding his breath. Afterwards, Jon enrolled in the Maryland Institute College Of Art in Baltimore and got a BA in Illustration in 2000 and then a year later a MA in Digital Art and Imagery. After completeing a summer internship at a video game company, he took his portfolio, big heart, and gumption and moved to Boston. Twelve days later September 11th happened and he was instantly called into action by creating amazing love-themed art. The economy in question and companies terrorized by uncertainty, Jon chagrinfully took his degrees and got a job at a local suburban Starbucks. Slinging coffee by day, he taught himself graphic design on his computer by night. Since no design firm was willing to take him in, he started his own! Jon with his creative partner also named Jon, founded FireHydrant-Red a design boutique that specialized in print and web with a tagline that read: "making the world beautifuler." Not too long after Jon self-founded Blend Apparel, a transformational t-shirt company. Today Jon still does design work under FireHydrant-Red and has brought on partners to help him expand Blend Apparel. All of his art is aimed at helping the world awaken, to remind himself and others that "You Are Loved." In addition to his art, Jon also travels around the world leading transformational workshops. You could say, Jon Marro, came into this world on a mission, and that mission is Love.
