"He was out doing his job in the early-morning hours, in the city, [in] a very dangerous situation, and ... put his life on the line, and tragically has lost his life doing his job," Chief Bill Blair told reporters. Whenever we read about brave and selfless professional law enforcement officers who, in relative obscurity die in the line of duty keeping us safe, we cannot help but feel a collective sense of sadness for a life lost too soon. Why do these things happen, especially under the somewhat unusual circumstances of being run down by a shoeless man driving a snowplow? Joining me in this special 15 minute news bulletin segment of the PI Window is the Cop Doc Richard Weinblatt to provide his thoughts on this morning's tragedy.
