I read Ellen's first book, "Close to the Machine: Technophilia and Its Discontents" in 2001, the year of its publication and was so taken by it that I made it  "recommended" (sometimes "required") reading for my college technology classes. Since then, she has authored two mystery novels and, now in 2017, the wonderful and well-received "Life In Code".
