The city of Newark LGBT community has been mourning the loss of a fellow sheroe, who provided a lot of insight when engaging the transgender community.  Because of her loss, several media outlets, in which they misidentified her, sadly misrepresented her, thereby only creating additional hurt in Newark and America's LGBT community.

So what does advocacy look like for our transgender community and how do we support them as they seek in getting to a place of overall wellness?  And how do we begin doing the work to include our transgender brothers and sisters in the LGBT movement.

Join us this Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 1pm (EST), as we celebrate the life and legacy of Newark's sheroe, Eyricka Morgan and have a dialogue in supporting our transgender community. Please call (646) 915-9198 to take part in a needed conversation with your co-hosts and special guests, Alex Williams (Director of LGBT Policy & Services at North Jersey Community Research Initiative), Gary Paul Wright (Executive Director of African American Office of Gay Concerns), Jaila Simms (singer, LGBT advocate, and Making the Band reality star), along with other transgender advocates and friends of Eyricka Morgan.
