In 1996 an illegal immigrant was found guilty of attempted murder and sentenced to prison. He was to be deported to his home country after serving his sentence in CT. However, he was not deported and 5 months after his release he murdered Casey Chadwick in Norwich, CT.

Our guest is Wendy Hartling, the mother of murder victim Casey Chadwick. Ms. Hartling and her daughter were very close and the tragic loss has been devastating. Advocacy to raise public awareness and reform of failed national deportation policies for dangerous convicted immigrants has become Ms. Hartling's goal.

She appears along with her Attorney Chester Fairlie of New London, CT who has served as a crime victim advocate for twenty six years. He is a co-facilitator of the support group in New London for Survivors of Homicide. Survivors may contact the group through Mr.Ill Fairlie's office phone 860 443 5297.
