Writer, Producer, Director Vicki Lau, "The Painter"

Born in Singapore, Vicki Lau had a passion for filmmaking since she was 14-years old when she first began using editing software. With a strong background in visual effects and applied psychology, she has always been fascinated with complex ideas and rich concepts that challenge the mind and encourage discussion and thinking in audiences.

Other than a few productions in her home country, the short film "The Painter" is her directorial debut. The film, made in the United States, explores the thin boundry between fantasy and reality. It was shown at the Palm Beach International Film Festival in April.

Vicki also worked as a visual effects intern on AMC's “The Walking Dead” and NBC's “Dracula,” while creating visual effects for AFI films and the independent feature film “Going Bongo”.
