Protecting Our Children from Sexual Abuse

The thought of our children being victimized by child predators is scary. We teach our children about "stranger danger" and about the private places on their bodies, but sadly that's not enough to keep our children safe. 

Just as we teach our children about the dangers of crossing the street or going near a hot stove, we must talk to them about recognizing and avoiding threatening encounters with predators, who too often are trusted adults in their lives - teachers, neighbors, uncles, aunts, cousins, or coaches

On December 7, at 2 p.m. EST, we will start the first of a two-part conversation on the sexual abuse of children.  In our first conversation, Dr. Saundra Maas-Robinson and Robyn Gobin will join us in a discussion of how to prevent child sexual abuse and how to recognize the early signs of this unacceptable sexual misconduct.

On January 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. EST, we will continue our conversation on protecting our children from sexual abuse with a focus on the steps for healing.
