United Methodists Debate Divestment from Israel's Occupation

As support grows for a selective Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against companies profiting from Israel's occupation of Palestinian lands, many around the world are watching closely as the United Methodist Church considers a groundbreaking resolution at its general convention in Tampa, Florida. The resolution calls for the church to "divest promptly" from Caterpillar, Motorola Solutions, and Hewlett-Packard -- companies that supply some of the products used to maintain Israel's illegal policies in the occupied Palestinian territories.
