The 3D Jazz Trio debuted in 2016 and have been swinging ever since! How they met is close to this show host's heart - because I've seen the production in which they starred. Maurice Hines created a beautiful journey, several years ago, in more ways than one. He wanted audiences to learn about his life with his brother - the late, great Gregory Hines. Maurice wanted an all-female orchestra to be a focal point for his storytelling. Voila! The Diva Jazz Orchestra.

As part of that talented unit, our guests found one another more than musically compatible. After MANY events together. Including lending time to clinics and work shops. These superbly talented women have ALL been leaders in their field, are all educators, and have all worked hard to achieve this level of success.

Amy Shook has visited the show more than once - and is viewed reverently by the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) and beyond. A bass goddess (and actually multi-instrumentalist), she is constantly in demand because of her versatility and positive spirit. She is the epitome of the title of the project that 3D Jazz released earlier this year: "I Love to See You Smile!"

Jackie Warren, meanwhile, mirrors the TV title: Hot In Cleveland! Our piano legend hails from Colorado - but was urged to attend Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio because MANY saw the incandescent talent that she had. Like Amy, she has performed with household names beyond her beloved adopted city. Once you see her play, you never forget!

Sherrie Maricle was the glue that held Maurice's show together as Music Director in "Tappin' Thru Life." Beyond a superior drummer, she is a composer and arranger - and the recipient of the Mary Lou Williams Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009. Her inspiration was Buddy Rich - so you know the power behind that kit!

Join us on 12/10 for the trio's "Christmas in 3D!"
