Dreamers: An Immigration Nightmare
Today, there are hundreds of thousands of "Dreamers" facing the possibility of having to leave the only home they've ever really known after President Donald Trump moved to end DACA, the Obama-era program that protects people brought into the U.S. illegally as children from being deported.
According to the latest federal figures, approximately 800,000 people have been approved for DACA since it began and roughly 690,000 are currently enrolled in the program. If Congress doesn't take action before March, when Trump plans to begin phasing DACA's protections out, Dreamers could face deportation, regardless of their skin color or country of origin.
Join Reggie Kearney and Chara Ann Tappin on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET, as they examine the effects of ending the DACA program could truly mean.
