Can White Parents Effectively Raise Black Children?

Children are the greatest resource of unbridled love, compassion, empathy and our future.  Most parents would say that as long as we give a child love and a safe haven to call home, it would be enough.  But, is it enough when white parents choose to adopt and raise a black child?

Regardless of racial dynamics, adoption requires a level of patience, love and empathy.  But a white person choosing to adopt a black child must first be willing to confront the passive racist views of white people hold, subconsciously or not. Going in with the mindset that this black child is no different from any other child is a naiveté the adoptive parent cannot afford, and for which the adopted child will pay.

So we ask the question:  Can transracial adoptive (white) parents effectively raise black children?

Our guest Co-Host for the first hour.... Ms. Cathy Lyons!

Join us on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 8pm PDT/11pm EDT, as we sit down to discuss one of the most controversial topics we’ve ever tackled.
