Mid-term Neglect Equals Long-term Nasty: Why NOT voting in Mid-Term Elections Matters.

This week on Real World News Radio, we’re digging deep on two of the hottest stories in political news:

  • North Carolina Republican Governor Pat McCrory’s signing of HB2 (the bathroom bill) essentially roles back that states anti-discrimination laws.  This new bill states transgender people who have not taken surgical and legal steps to change the gender noted on their birth certificates have no legal right under state law to use public restrooms of the gender with which they identify.
  • Three years after Voting Rights Act was gutted, we bore witness to Arizona’s primary voting fiasco.  With long wait times, it appears that disenfranchisement in the General Election is looming. What are some solutions and where do we go from here?

We want to hear from you!

Join the Real World News team as they discuss the failure of voters to understand why mid-term elections matter as much or even more than the national elections.
