After Michigan State where he majored in psychology, sociology and philosophy Bill went on to Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore where he studied mental health program planning at a public health level. After Baltimore Bill lived in Central Illinois, Decatur and then moved to Ann Arbor. In 1980 Bill Bruzy came to Austin, Texas on a bicycle trip. He has worked as a counselor and part-time writer and photographer for many years and owns a small counseling center where he has a private practice.
