Marta Montero is a wife, special education teacher, student, blogger and mother of two boys with special needs, Jan and Ian. Jan is 13 years old, in 8th grade, and is healthy, but has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (or ADHD). Ian is 7 years old, in 1st grade and has double outlet right ventricle, atrioventricular canal, transposition of the great arteries, and valve regurgitation. Ian has had the Glenn and the Fontan, as well as one catheterization. He is on aspirin and enalapril.

While Ian has excellent grades at school, he doesn’t currently practice any sports. Ian has a good relationship with his peers and his older brother. He loves Transformers and superheroes, especially Captain America.

Tune in to hear Marta share her experiences with her son having open-heart surgery in Puerto Rico and what she and her son decided to do when they couldn't find the resources they needed in Spanish!
