With Featured Guest: Ms. Kareena Blackmon

Director and Coordinator of the VERY FIRST County-wIde Annual Foster Youth Graduation Celebration held in Solano County.

Kareena is a 20+ year old former foster youth who at the age of 4 years old, entered care and endured years of neglect and abuse.

Currently employed by Solano County Child Welfare System as a Youth Advocate, she has launched plans for the very first Annual Countywide Foster Care Graduation Celebration to be held in Solano County, on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012.

Kareena began volunteering for organizations which are dedicated to helping improve the foster care system at the age of 15; and has served on youth panels, advisory boards, and traveling state and nation-wide sharing her story and enhancing her knowledge of the inner workings and impact of the system she grew up in.

2010 recipient of For A Child's H.E.A.R.T.'s "Les Brown Heart of Dreams & Tenacity" Award, Kareena is also Foster Care Alumni Advisor to "H.E.A.R.T." and its Board of Directors. Even with this hectic schedule she is pursuing a degree in Business Accounting at Napa Valley College.

Listen and learn how this young lady is "giving back to
AND being the village" and how we can support her and our graduating youth!
