Who is Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson? Distinguished military officer. Inventor. Prolific writer of comic scripts and adventure stories. Publisher. Created the modern comic book in 1934. Founded DC Comics. Gave Siegel and Shuster of Superman fame their start. After 70 years, the Major, as he was known to his friends and colleagues, was finally honored at ComicCon2008 and received an Eisner Award from the industry he began.
His granddaughter is a comics historian who tells a wild tale about the origin of DC Comics.
