Mitzi Parrish’s pet styling career began at an early age, as a bather/brusher to her mentor, and mother, Jaqueline Rauch. Mitzi attributes her styling skill and success in the styling education field to the high expectations Jacqueline had for herself and any who worked for her in pet care, styling, and styling instruction. My mother’s words that “anything worth doing, is worth doing right or don’t do it at all” are forever etched in my brain. I consider the opportunity I had to learn from such a successful, professional, talented, and ethical business woman a real blessing” says Parrish. “She molded my belief that education is a lifelong pursuit, to which I study pet styling trends worldwide, and attend industry trade shows to keep abreast of new techniques, styles, to assure Golden Paws curricula stays fresh & current.” Ms. Parrish became the 1st in her family to get a Master Groomer Certification from the National Dog Groomers Association of America and graduate with a degree in Communications from the University of Alabama. As well as an accomplished stylist and instructor, Mitzi holds various federally registered patents, copyrights, and trademarks. She works with state education boards in the trade school licensing sector developing instructor and curricula requirements for Golden Paws Styling Schools. Ms. Parrish developed, the Golden Paws Professional Pet Styling Distance Program, a hybrid of distance and classroom learning, for those adults with obligations that make attending class difficult or impossible. Having designed, developed, and operated many successful salons, schools, and mobile grooming vans, Mitzi’s favorite area of the business is training future stylists and business owners, “the personal reward of seeing graduates become skilled, ethical and caring pet professionals is beyond gratifying.
