Michael Edell will share his expertise about the preparation needed to conduct a capital campaign.  His topic will include: the objectives, benefits and process for conducting a feasibility study and the steps involved with launching a capital campaign. Many organizations raise large sums from capital campaigns while many others fail. Learn how to lead your organization to campaign success.

Michael Edell is a senior vice president with Netzel Grigsby Associates, inc., and has more than 30 years of non-profit administration and fundraising experience through his work at the American Heart Association, American Social Health Association, University of San Francisco, San Mateo County Hospitals and Clinics, and the San Mateo County Department of Public Health.

Michael has worked with a wide array of nonprofits, including universities, healthcare institutions, arts and cultural organizations, social service organizations, religious institutions, independent schools, and foundations. He has managed feasibility studies, capital campaigns, developed financial development and strategic plans.

In addition to his fundraising experience, Michael served as executive director for several nonprofits and was the founding director of the National AIDS Hotline. Michael graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor’s in Organization Behavior and a Masters in Human Resources and Organization Development. He was a faculty member of the University of San Francisco's Institute for Nonprofit Organization Management where he taught fundraising and served as organizational project advisor for students.

Michael serves on the board of directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Golden Gate Chapter and is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.
