The End Times "Gospel" - and its cultish spinoffs

The "gospel" of the end times is nothing new -- it's been preached long before Christianity.

In modern-day Christianity, there are some sects obsessed with “the end times” and return of the messiah.

This obsession has led to best-selling books, movies and video games, speculation about "the New World Order," and a fervent desire to fulfil the Great Commission to bring about the return of Jesus Christ.

Whether it's dispensationalism, dominionism, the Charismatic movement or a variety of other beliefs, is the proliferation of end time prophecy motivated by profit, or is it part of a cult? Do right wing fundamentalist fanatics want to bring about Armageddon in our time?
