Somewhere deep in our hearts, or buried in the back of our minds, are certain words of love and wisdom that just don’t get shared with our kids. Somehow, doing homework, getting to soccer practice, or music lessons, or all their other kid activities just sucks up most of the available time. And whatever may be left gets taken away by the electronic babysitters we buy to entertain our kids, because frankly, we’re exhausted. For many, the time when we finally speak these words only comes at the big moments in life…our kids graduate…our kids marry…we get sick and face death. Until we are facing those times, we seem to lack a sense of urgency. Fortunately, moments like Christmas and New Years Eve can also kindle in us the desire to share our love in ways other than buying gifts. Today’s program encourages each of us to face the question “What if you only had one hour left with your children?” and share our answers with those we love. Do this, and you may actually find that the Christmas feeling really can last all year long.
