The old saying goes "Everything you're doing now has already been done" but someone had to do it first, right? Trailblazers come in all shapes, sizes and colors and tend to have a lasting impact on all whom they've touched. Dr. Trevy A. McDonald is no different, being the first Black Woman to have a tenured professorship in the School of Media and Journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. She has mentored countless students to scholarships, internship opportunities, and employment with companies like Bloomberg, Facebook, and the top strategic communication firms and media outlets. Author, Editor, Associate Professor of Media and Journalism (UNC-Chapel Hill), and Distinguished Alumni Award winner (University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 2008) Dr. Trevy A. McDonald will be sharing a few of her trailblazing moments and her career with Host Koby Dumas.
