"When you ask someone how they are doing, do you really mean it? When you answer someone back how you are doing, are you really telling the truth?" ~ Brady Quinn (KC Chiefs QB)

This has been some week in sports. On the field, we witnessed several vivid illustrations of the "thrill of victory and the agony of defeat". Nothing more endearing than the image of Georgia QB Murray taking off his helmet & walking off the field after precious seconds ticked off the clock with his team only a few feet from the endzone. Across the field, Alabama's QB McCarran was celebrating with his teammates only a few weeks after he was caught on camera with tears in his eyes when Johnny Football led his Texas A&M Aggies to the upset victory of 'Bama.

Against that backdrop, we are reminded that while sports provides us with a great escape from reality, a way to engage with friends, and a platform for our entertainment...it is also just that....sport. And, as we see with the tragic murder/suicide that took place early Saturday morning in a suburb of Kansas City, those who play these games, those who we admire for their strength & competitive fire, those we cheer for on Saturday's & Sunday's are also strapped with the same challenges that many individuals face in their personal lives. Sometimes making decisions that don't make sense to others.

We'll also discuss the rollercoaster ride that those of us who call ourselves sports fanatics endure. From the suddenly imploding Lakers to the future stars like RGIII. We're covering it all, so tune in Wednesday at 1pm EST as we give you a "New View from the Sidelines" here on Game Changers Live!
