How do professional and college sports teams/organizations distinguish themselves from competitors in a crowded market full of entertainment options? You hire some of the most innovative thinkers in the business who are willing to think outside of the box & come up with creative approaches to engaging current fans and potential consumers of your brand.

That's the formula that Major League Soccer took five years ago, when they hired NBA Ticket Sales veteran Bryant Pfeiffer to lead their Team Services department. Pfeiffer, currently the Vice-President of Team Services for MLS, then followed through on his vision for a National Sales Training Center that has won international acclaim.

Similarly, administrators at the University of Oregon made an impressive hire when they brought Craig Pintens in to lead the athletic department through the catapulting of the Oregon Ducks brand into a national brand. Capitalizing on the cache of the Nike-designed uniforms, Pintens, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Public Relations, has leveraged social media & engaged the student body in the design and usage of the Quack Cave.

Find out what inspires these two visionaries and what's next for the MLS and the Oregon Ducks! Tune in for GCL SportsBiz Brief on Tuesday, October 9th at Noon ET/9am PT!
