Born in Huntington, West Virginia, as a very young child Jessica endured severe child sexual, physical and emotional abuse, domestic violence and complex trauma at the hands of her biological father and older brother. She was isolated and was not permitted to have friends, which was strictly enforced by whatever means necessary. Her only friends were cats.

Breaking the forced silence Jessica lived in and attempting to get help when she was 10 years old nearly cost her her life, but she knew it had to stop and her dad was dangerous not only to Jessica, but everyone.

At 11, Jessica stood up to her dad at a theme park he showed up at on a motorcycle, while stalking her mom, brother and Jessica. Her mom and brother were running away scared, but she walked right up to him and told him to leave us the hell alone because he was not supposed to be around us. He turned around and left.

At 11, Jessica was placed in her first foster home which didn’t work out because her foster mom thought ahe was going to runaway so her foster mom grabbed her, dragged her into the house and Jessica fought back so it ended up a full restraint.

Jessica's second foster mom went above and beyond and was there to comfort Jessica's mom when Jessica was dying in the hospital from a suicide attemper after she was sent home by CPS from her house. After my mom’s boyfriend severely beat me with my mom standing right there and she did nothing,

Despite being legally disabled,Jessica got a pre-apprenticeship certification in manufacturing. I am currently in the Women Igniting Change program working on an initiative I named RISE from shattered silence to strength. I am currently a volunteer for the NAASCA, Ambassador for WV, a volunteer for the Humanity Preservation Foundation, and a facilitator for a female support group with SCSA, Survivors of Childhood Sex Abuse.
