Christ in the Passover "The Last Supper", that famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, shows Christ and the disciples eating a meal at a long table in straight-backed chairs. But most Christians aren't aware that they didn't just sit down and have a supper. Oh no! This was a Seder. Our Jewish friends could tell us a thing or two about Seders. This was a specialized ritual meal, eaten every year at Passover, commemorating the exodus from Egypt. A lot of Christians don't even know that their communion "bread and wine" came right from this Seder's observance. And another thing: those disciples? They didn't sit on straight-backed chairs, either. This Thursday night, we'll look at what actually happened at that "Last Supper". It's a fascinating slice of history and culture that few realize.
