COLIN TUDGE, GETTING INVOLVED IN THE AGRARIAN RENAISSANCE

ENVISION THIS: Feeding the world by replacing Agri-Industry with Eco-agriculture

Our guests are Colin and Ruth Tudge, advocates of an “Agrarian Renaissance.” Colin is a biologist and a writer. He is a co-founder of the Campaign for Real Farming, the Oxford Real Farming Conference, and is seeking to establish the College for Enlightened Agriculture at Schumacher College. He champions “Farming that is expressly designed to provide everyone, everywhere, and forever with food of the highest standard, nutritionally and gastronomically, without wrecking the rest of the world”.

Colin and Ruth are clear that we need to “do this despite the powers that be: the oligarchy of corporates, governments like ours, the big banks, and their chosen intellectuals ...We need nothing less than a people’s takeover; achieved not by step-by-step reform (it won’t work) or by out-and-out revolution (too dangerous) but through AGRARIAN RENAISSANCE, building the new system in situ; allowing the status quo to wither on the vine.”
