In the book, Dan earnestly describes his dating experiences, which includes being “set up” with a friend of a friend and online dating. We’ve all been there! His journey is entertaining and full of surprises, and the best part is that we as readers get to learn from his mishaps along the way. Throughout his story, I learned the kinds of questions I should be prepared to ask any potential boyfriend as well as physical and emotional boundaries that I can lay down to protect my heart.

Most of all, this book restored my faith in Christian dating. Dan worked on respecting boundaries, being patient in courtship, and even made important sacrifices to win the heart of his wife, Margaret. He put His trust in God and though he had his share of mistakes in the dating process (which he humbly and bluntly admits to!), he’s been rewarded with an amazing love story.

Mainstream media encourages us to run blindly towards romance and skip the important process of getting to know one another. This book taught me that by pressing on the breaks a bit and letting God into the relationship, the end result is a sweeter and more blessed marriage"
