Your Host's SageGram and WritetoManifest will be having a Real talk segment that will include a celebration of Earth Day and a special guest, whom will share how her work is informed and connected to the Earth.
We will also discuss police brutality and how it’s a problem and perhaps when considering solutions, geography should be taken into account.
Finally we would like to speak on the racist comments and beliefs of Donald Sterling owner of the NBA Clippers.
Earth Day:
"More than a billion people around the world will celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2014—the 44th anniversary of the annual day of action. Earth Day began in 1970, when 20 million people across the United States—that's one in ten—rallied for increased protection of the environment. Environmental problems today, however, are less immediate than dirty air, toxic water, and a hole in the ozone layer.... global climate change [is] one of the most significant, if not the most significant, public health issue of our time."
