This week's on the Empowerment Hour we welcome back Adbur-Rahim Hameed, President of the National Black Contractors Association, and Drexel Johnson, President of the Young Black Contractors Association of California. The two guests will discuss their associations' plans to stage an action in Washington, D. C., in the coming weeks to grant black contractors a fair share of the billions of federal dollars being sent to the states and local communities for infrastructure upgrading and building development. We will also be given an update on the organization’s plans and experiences in the world of large- and small-scale contractors, and will discuss recent changes in the business climate for Black Contractors in this economy. As we continue our program, we will focus on current issues affecting people of color throughout this country and of course take your calls.
