JP Howard aka Juliet P. Howard is the author of SAY/MIRROR (The Operating System, 2015), a Cave Canem graduate fellow and a member of The Hot Poets Collective. She curates Women Writers in Bloom Poetry Salon (WWBPS), a forum for women writers to come together in a positive and supportive space. JP is an alum of the VONA/Voices Writers Workshop, a Lambda Literary Foundation Emerging LGBT Voices Fellow and a 2011 Cave Canem Fellow-in-Residence at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She was a Lesbian Writers’ Fund (poetry) finalist from Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice.

 

Her poetry has been widely published, including in Nepantla: A Journal for Queer Poets of Color, Adrienne A Poetry Journal of Queer Women (Sibling Rivalry Press), The Wide Shore A Journal of Global Women's Poetry, The Best American Poetry Blog, The Mom Egg, African Voices Magazine, Kweli Journal, Talking Writing, Muzzle Magazine, Connotation Press and Cave Canem Anthology XII: Poems 2008-2009. JP holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the City College of NY and a BA from Barnard College. JP was awarded a Brooklyn Arts Council Community Arts Fund Grant in 2014.
