Today our guest is Dr. Phyllis Holditch Niolon, PhD, Acting Special Assistant to the Associate Director of Science in the Division of Violence Prevention, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. We will discuss teen dating violence, and helping communities, parents, and kids to learn how to directly deal with this problem which occurs everywhere to males and females. Dr. Niolon emphasizes on the importance of deepening relationships with the family and the community. There needs to be education and support all around.

Dr. Niolon's research focuses on the rigorous evaluation of interventions to prevent intimate partner violence and teen dating violence. She is the lead of the randomized controlled trial evaluating the comparative effectiveness of CDC’s Dating Matters®: Strategies to Promote Healthy Teen Relationships Initiative and serves as a subject matter expert on intimate partner violence and teen dating violence.
