Today we are continuing our series "All Kinds of Families". Our guest, Kevin Roberts, who was abandoned by his father at two years of age, will share with us how this experience affects his life.

Kevin Roberts, M.A., is a recovering video game addict and ADHD adult who has struggled, as well, with anxiety. Robert is open about how the loss of his father through abandonment at two years of age contributed to his addiction  He has a Master’s Degree in ADHD Studies from Antioch University. Roberts runs support groups to help cyber addicts who struggle to get their lives back on track. His background is in education, and for the last eleven years he has been an academic coach, helping folks dealing with ADHD and other learning differences succeed in school and life.  He speaks around the country about video gaming addiction and ADHD and is the author of Cyber Junkie:  Escape the Internet and Gaming Trap (Hazelden 2010). His second book, on ADHD, will be released with Hazelden Publishing in May 2012:  Movers, Dreamers, and Risk Takers: Unlocking the Power of ADHD.
