Jimy Sohns has been a legendary domineering force in rock and blues music for over four decades and continues to leave a legacy that many affectionately seek to emulate today and will for many more generations to come. In 1964, out of Arlington Heights, IL, “The Shadows” were formed and Jimy began his career as front man for what was to become one of the most memorable rock bands of our time, “The Shadows of Night”. Churning out classic songs such as G-L-O-R-I-A and Hoochie Coochie Man, Jimy rose to stardom on the wings of great vocals and blazing talent.GLORIA (the single) went to #1 for seven weeks. They were the first Anglo American band to record such blues standards as Hoochie Coochie Man, Spoonful, Boom Boom, Mojo, and I Just Want to Make Love to You This is why The Rolling Stones picked The Shadows of Night to open for them as they were trying to emulate American blues especially Chicago blues. He is featured on the 2006 Rolling Rock and Roll Tour featuring The Shadows of Night and The Romantics, produced and promoted by Steven Van Zant’s underground garage. Jimy still performs dates with The Shadows of Night, The Chicago Gold Revue tour with a star studded line up such as Jimy Rogers of The Mauds, Tom Doody and Jimmy Pilsner of The Cryin’ Shames among a myriad of other well known talents.Today, Jimy focuses all his energy on his first new band since the beginning of The Shadows, on The Rock and Roll Side Show.
