Shame: feeling unworthy

Psalm 119:32 O, Lord do not put me to shame! I will run the course of Your Commandments, for You shall enlarge my heart.

The word "shame" is closely related to "mortified" which is derived form a French word meaning death. Shame is the experience of profound embarrassment, a feeling of wanting to "curl up and die" on the inside.
