Episode 10 - John Kirk

This week we’ll be talking to author and crypozoological investigator, John Kirk about his research into Sasquatch and a number of other cryptids he has investigated and been on expeditions for. John is president of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club (BCSCC). He is also chairman of the Crypto Safari organization, which specializes in sending teams of investigators to remote parts of the world to search for animals as yet unidentified by science. Since 1996, John has been editor and publisher of the BCSCC Quarterly which is the flagship publication of the BCSCC.

John is the author of the award-winning book In the Domain of the Lake Monsters, and is one of the world’s leading investigators into aquatic cryptids. He has investigated Ogopogo, Cadborosaurus, black alligators, unknown cameloids, lacustrean cryptids, and giant salamanders in British Columbia. He also has an extensive knowledge into aquatic cryptids in other geographic regions such as Champ from Lake Champlain and Nessie from Loch Ness.

In 2001 John travelled with a Crypto Safari team to Cameroon and the Northern Republic of Congo to interview witnesses among the Baka pygmies and Bantu bushmen in regards to the Mokele Mbembe, a creature resembling a sauropod dinosaur. While there, him and his team also investigated reports of a creature resembling a styracosaurus type of dinosaur called Ngoubou and unearthed the first reports of a hominoid type creature which inhabits the region dubbed by locals as the Dodu.

John has dedicated a considerable amount of time and resources in recent years into the subject of Sasquatch. He is extremely involved in investigating the various accounts of bipedal hominids of the world, most notably those of Sasquatch in North America and the Yeren of China. So please join us this week as we discuss his current research and investigations.
